At the age of 7, she experienced bullying at school. Two girls simply wouldn’t give her a break, and during the February half-term holiday, I noticed a bald patch on her head. Following that, we consulted doctors and received a referral, marking the beginning of her alopecia journey. Gradually, she began to lose more and more hair. Then, COVID-19 struck, and she spent 6 months at home, away from school, and her hair started to regrow. However, when schools reopened, she experienced a complete loss and then some. Now, she is entirely without hair, including her eyelashes and eyebrows.
Bonnie has always displayed remarkable resilience, earning awards at school, including the Standing Ovation Award for her fundraising efforts on behalf of Alopecia UK. She also received recognition from Alopecia UK for her fundraising and her efforts to raise awareness. She is, without a doubt, the strongest young lady I have ever known.
